Erik Olson

With a passion for wine and adventure, Erik went out into the world with stints in two of the world's most exciting wine countries, Chile and Italy, while finally landing in wine-rich Pacific Northwest. He attended the University of Oregon, double majoring in Global Business and International Studies. He returned to school in Italy, graduating from CIMBA, located in Asolo, Italy, where he received his MBA.

Erik worked for 3 years in the transportation and logistics industry, followed by 2 years as Marketing Director and Director of Business Development in the medical device industry. Currently, he is working with Freelock Computing and continues to further his Asolana Projects.

A big supporter of Drupal and an aspiring web architect, he has led development on a number of high end Drupal sites including dorksandcorks.com, Ballard News Tribune, CIMBAAlumni.com, Organic Materials Research Institute, Littlestar Prints, Quinta Stagione Rock, and Po Dogs.

While Drupal has been a recently added passion, Erik has devoted much of his youth and savings to his ultimate dream of owning a vineyard, and hopes to spread his passion for wines to the next generation of wine lovers!

Giulia Canali

Born and raised in the Dolomite foothills of Italy, Giulia (pronounced Julia) was brought up in the heart of Northern Italy's wine country. After studying for short time at the University of Padova, Giulia pursued a career at the Consortium Institute of Management and Business Analysis (CIMBA), an American MBA program located in Asolo, Italy that played host to many international students. As an integral part of the faculty team, Giulia was able to develop an important understanding of an appreciation for the different cultures and world perspectives.

It was through these experiences and contacts that Giulia set out on a personal journey that landed her in Seattle, Washington. She became President and Founder of Asolana Imports, a boutique wine importing company dedicated to importing and distributing fine Italian wines in Washington state. Her customers spanned the Puget Sound, with high end restaurants such as Osteria la Spiga, Waterfront Grill, and Ruths Chris Steakhouse. She sold the company in early 2007 much to the dismay of her customers, and set her sights on her next big adventure.

Teaming up with contacts past and present, Giulia remains committed to sharing the passion of those around her with the world, so that they too can better appreciate the passion and diversity of others.

Giulia is currently the Program Coordinator for Seattle Language Academy
